Kaplan & Partners is a privately held legal staffing firm located in the heart of San Francisco. Our experience includes everything from litigation secretary placements to partner placements – and we pride ourselves on taking the same exceptional level of care with each placement we make.
Our services include temporary staffing, project staffing and direct hire placements. Our network includes legal professionals throughout the Bay Area with whom we’ve developed strong relationships over years in the industry. We take the time to sit down with all of our candidates and clients so that we can truly understand your needs – and accurately identify your ideal solution.
Naomi Kaplan - Our Founder
Naomi founded Kaplan & Partners so that she could provide highly personalized recruiting services to law firms and corporate legal departments throughout the Bay Area, and she counts herself extremely lucky to have chosen a profession that suits her personality and skills so well. She thrives on finding her candidates jobs they will love just as much as she loves her own.
Naomi’s first experience with the law came just after college when she worked as a litigation paralegal at Skadden Arps in Boston. While working at Skadden, she had the opportunity to meet a pro bono client from Guinea who inspired her to join the Peace Corps. After serving in Benin for two years, Naomi taught writing to high school seniors while she applied to law school. After graduating from Boston College Law School, where she was a published Senior Articles Editor of the Third World Law Journal, Naomi practiced as a litigator at a boutique firm in San Francisco before becoming a recruiter.
Naomi’s recruiting experience includes attorney search, partner level searches, project team placements, and countless support staff placements on both a direct hire and temporary basis. Prior to founding Kaplan & Partners, Naomi worked at an international legal staffing firm and at a nationwide legal staffing firm.
Zack Lyons
Zack is excited to be working in the field of legal placement and staffing. He has almost a decade of experience in litigation and executive support, which gives him an on-the-ground understanding of the importance of finding the right fit for both firms and candidates.
Zack has worked on all phases of litigation, including many trials and appellate work (up to, and including, the United States Supreme Court). In addition, he has managed a wide variety of administrative tasks for law firms, including business development events, implementation of paperless files, e-discovery, attorney and staff training for e-filing vehicles, billing reconciliation, and client databases.
He is also proud to be training for the next AIDS Lifecycle bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, so you are likely to see him on a bike around San Francisco or Marin. Zack is passionate about travel and spent a year in Nice, France studying the language and enjoying the Mediterranean.
Sandra Cholico
Sandra is very excited to be a part of Kaplan & Partners. She started her career as a recruiter with Adecco staffing and then moved in-house for Bank of America. Sandra left the recruiting field to be an Executive Assistant for Investment Bankers where she supported two Managing Directors and a Vice President. After nearly four years in that role she was thrilled to return to recruiting, and she specializes in finding her candidates jobs she knows that they will love.
Sandra thrives on guiding her candidates through the exciting interview and offer stage, and she has placed her candidates everywhere from top ten law firms to smaller boutique firms.
When she’s not closing deals for her candidates, Sandra trains with Team in Training and is currently gearing up for the Paris Marathon.
